As with all good things they eventually come to an end. The Chesley dojo which has run in its current location at Kinghurst School for over the last decade, has been advised by the Blue Water School Board that that location will no longer be available next year, so it was recommended that we move the club this year.
Grey-Bruce Ryusei Karate has a strong history in the Chesley area. The club was started by Peter Zehr running under the name Zehr Chito-ryu Karate in 1984. Zehr-Sensei taught for many years in Chesley and as Matt Mannerow continued his training under Zehr-Sensei he became the number one student in the dojo. In 1996 Zehr-Sensei due to personal issues had to seek employment outside of the area. He asked Matt to take over the Chesley Dojo, as it was only natural for him to eventually partner with and expand the Dojo.
As part of that expansion process we open a club in Wiarton in 2001 and then Matt started teaching in Walkerton in 2011. The club has been very successful in Walkerton and will now run twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays up stairs in the Walkerton area. Check the class times and prices here.
Zehr-Sensei and Mannerow-Sensei are committed to the continuation of a high quality Okinawan karate program, that everyone from ages 5 to 95 can enjoy.
Grey-Bruce Ryusei Karate has a number of quality black belt students, that assist with the teaching in the dojos.
